Elemental determinations

Labtium's wide-ranging services and modern analysis equipment provide a comprehensive set of methods for following up the state of the environment, assessing contamination and monitoring environmental effects.
With respect to environmental loading, determination of total concentrations of metals and hazardous elements can be carried out by dissolving in hot aqua regia, or by decomposition with nitric acid, depending on the material under examination.
Depending on the range of elements and the required determination limits of the study, the analysis can be carried out using a combination of different equipment techniques.

Elemental determinations of soil, sediment and ash samples follow dissolution in hot aqua regia

Dissolution in hot aqua regia is suitable for mineral samples when one is determining total metal concentrations with respect to environmental loading.

Elemental determinations of organic sediment, humus and peat samples after decomposition with nitric acid

When determining the overall concentrations of metals with respect to environmental loading, decomposition with nitric acid is suitable for samples which contain a great deal of organic material.
